Kitchen Accounting Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Kitchen Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations within a high-volume food production and distribution environment. This position is responsible for managing inventory accounting, cost analysis, production reporting, financial controls, and operational support for kitchen and manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to partner with operations teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities related to kitchen production operations.
- Monitor inventory transactions, variances, adjustments, and reconciliation processes.
- Analyze food, labor, and operational costs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and review production, inventory, and financial reports for management.
- Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventories.
- Partner with operations leadership to investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Review purchasing, receiving, and production transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial analysis.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Finance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, or financial analysis experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, food production, distribution, or supply chain operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and accounting software.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and present actionable recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.
