Our law firm client is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join its sophisticated employment practice in Providence, RI.


This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a broad and well-rounded practice spanning employment litigation, counseling, investigations, workplace training, transactional support, and traditional labor matters.


The role offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to become a key member of a collaborative and growing team.


Role Overview

The associate will advise employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including:

  • Wage and hour litigation
  • Discrimination, retaliation, and harassment matters
  • Non-compete and restrictive covenant disputes
  • Employment and HR counseling
  • Drafting employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and related documents
  • Conducting workplace investigations
  • Developing and delivering employment-related trainings
  • Supporting M&A and other transactions through employment due diligence
  • Advising on workforce-related risks and compliance matters


Additional experience involving traditional labor relations is a plus, including:

  • Collective bargaining negotiations
  • Union organizing campaigns
  • Unfair labor practice matters
  • NLRB proceedings and arbitrations


Experience with executive compensation matters is also a plus.


Candidate Profile

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • 4+ years of Labor & Employment experience
  • Experience with employment litigation and counseling
  • Strong drafting experience involving employment agreements and workplace policies
  • Workplace investigation experience preferred
  • Transactional and employment due diligence experience is a plus
  • Traditional labor experience is highly valued
  • Executive compensation experience is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader team
