Salary: $125,000 – $160,000 per year, DOE and certifications

We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead one of our Orange County operations. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a results-driven professional who understands commercial landscape maintenance, financial performance, client relationships, and team development.


The Opportunity

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall operational, financial, customer service, safety, employee, and growth performance of the branch.

You will lead Account Managers, field operations, and administrative teams while partnering with Executive Leadership and Corporate departments to drive profitability, operational excellence, client retention, employee development, and sustainable growth.


What You'll Do

Branch Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Account Managers, field operations, and administrative personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability.
  • Build a culture of teamwork, professionalism, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for significant operational, employee, safety, and customer matters.

Financial & P&L Management

  • Own the overall financial performance of the branch.
  • Manage revenue, gross profit, labor costs, overtime, operating expenses, and profitability.
  • Review budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Partner with Account Managers to support timely collections and strong account performance.

Account Management & Client Relationships

  • Lead and develop Account Managers responsible for commercial client portfolios.
  • Drive client retention, service quality, revenue growth, enhancements, and profitability.
  • Participate in client meetings, property walks, business reviews, and renewal discussions.
  • Resolve customer concerns and proactively address service issues.

Operations

  • Ensure landscape maintenance services consistently meet quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer-service standards.
  • Monitor labor utilization, production efficiency, route efficiency, staffing, and crew performance.
  • Conduct field inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.

Growth & Business Development

  • Develop strategies to grow branch revenue through retention, enhancements, additional services, and new business.
  • Identify opportunities within existing accounts to expand services.
  • Support proposals, client presentations, networking, and business development activities.
  • Balance growth with pricing, labor requirements, service capabilities, and profitability.

People & Safety

  • Partner with HR and leadership on recruiting, retention, employee development, and performance management.
  • Develop high-potential employees and succession opportunities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety standards, training, PPE, and applicable regulations.
  • Partner with Safety, HR, Fleet, and other departments to address incidents and reduce risk.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in landscape management, commercial landscape maintenance, operations, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience leading Account Managers, supervisors, field teams, or multiple operational teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, P&L, labor costs, revenue, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of commercial landscape maintenance operations and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and hold teams accountable to measurable results.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and outdoor field environments.
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on operational needs.

Preferred Certifications & Qualifications

Candidates with the following certifications or qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • QAL – Qualified Applicator License
  • QWEL – Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper
  • ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent arboriculture certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Horticulture, Landscape Management, Operations Management, or related field
  • Experience managing a multi-million-dollar branch or comparable business unit
  • Experience managing multiple Account Managers and large commercial client portfolios
  • Experience with landscape management software, CRM, payroll/timekeeping, and financial reporting systems
