Our client, a major international wholesaler/manufacture in the Building Materials Industry, is looking for a Location Controller for their Edison location.
This is a 5-day per week IN-OFFICE position in Edison, (hybrid/remote is not an option).
SUMMARY: The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, and business analysis while identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic financial oversight with hands-on execution in a growing manufacturing and distribution business.
NOTE: while this is a very established and financially secure company they are on the smaller side (approx $55-$60M in revenue). This is NOT a position for someone who handles more than $100M in revenue.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and finance activities for the business.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, and executive reporting packages.
- Partner with business leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital initiatives.
- Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and cost analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree required (in Accounting or Finance preferred).
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Handles revenue between $45-$85M.
- Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Finance Director experience.
- Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or consumer products experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
