Full job description

KLR Executive Search Group is proud to partner with Downeast Coffee Roasters (www.downeastcoffee.com) to recruit their new Supply Chain & Logistics Manager. Downeast Coffee Roasters is a third-generation, family-owned and operated organization, rooted in the rich heritage and rugged charm of New England. Founded in 1953, this family-owned and operated business was built on a simple belief: coffee brings people together. For more than 70 years, they've been creating meaningful connections, fostering community, and serving as a staple for generations of customers.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to Ownership, the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will play a critical role in supporting Downeast Coffee’s continued growth by strengthening and advancing the company’s distribution and fulfillment operations. This is an opportunity for a hands-on warehouse and logistics leader to step into a high-impact role focused on ensuring product moves efficiently from production to customers, while improving the systems, processes, and structure that support day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain execution, with a primary focus on outbound logistics, order fulfillment, and on-time delivery to retail and distribution partners.
  • Manage daily OTR logistics operations, including shipment scheduling, carrier coordination, and route planning to ensure efficient and timely product delivery.
  • Develop and optimize delivery routing strategies for local and regional distribution, balancing service levels, delivery windows, and freight costs.
  • Coordinate all outbound freight activity, including LTL, full truckload, and local delivery, while managing relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
  • Lead warehouse operations within the company’s distribution facility, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of finished goods.
  • Supervise and direct a small team of warehouse and operations support staff, providing guidance on workflow, scheduling, and performance expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage procurement of non-coffee “stock items” including packaging materials, supplies, and other operational inputs required to support production and distribution continuity.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations, or distribution, ideally within a manufacturing, food & beverage, or CPG environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment, with a strong understanding of how product flows through a warehouse and onto delivery routes.
  • Exposure to transportation logistics, including freight coordination, routing, scheduling, and working with carriers or delivery partners.
