The Demand Planning Manager leads the demand forecasting process for a portfolio of brands, ensuring forecasts reflect historical sales, business plans, market conditions, and commercial inputs. This role partners with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to support accurate forecasting, inventory planning, and overall business objectives.
This position is based in office from Mondays-Thursdays, and remote on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing management of demand forecasts using historical sales data, trends, seasonality, and business inputs.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to incorporate promotions, distribution changes, product launches, lifecycle changes, and other factors into forecasts.
- Lead monthly demand reviews as part of the S&OP process, ensuring alignment on key assumptions, risks, and forecast changes.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and variances; conduct root-cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Supply Planning and Material Planning to align demand forecasts with production, purchasing, and inventory requirements.
- Support inventory planning by providing demand insights for inventory targets, replenishment, and excess or obsolete inventory risks.
- Lead demand planning for new product launches, transitions, and discontinuations.
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting processes, reporting, and cross-functional planning.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on demand trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related analytical function.
- Beauty, fragrance, luxury, or CPG experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, data and statistical analysis.
- Understanding of demand forecasting and inventory planning principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
