Manager Total Rewards
Full job description
A well established apparel company is looking for a Senior Manager of Total Rewards to own its compensation and benefits function. This role reports directly to the CHRO and manages one payroll professional.
This is a real seat at the table. You will be the total rewards expert the CHRO and senior leadership rely on for compensation structure, benefits design, cost management, and pay equity across a corporate, field, and distribution workforce. The company has grown steadily and wants someone who can bring more structure and better data to how it rewards its people. Strategic thinking is the priority, but this is a hands-on team, so you should be equally comfortable building a salary band and reviewing a benefits invoice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compensation strategy, salary structures, job architecture, and pay ranges across exempt and non exempt populations
- Market benchmarking, survey participation, and the annual merit and bonus cycle from planning through communication
- Incentive and variable pay program design, plus pay equity analysis and recommendations
- The full benefits portfolio, including annual renewals, plan design modeling, contribution strategy, and open enrollment
- Broker, carrier, and vendor relationships, holding partners accountable on cost and service
- 401(k) administration, including audit, testing, and Form 5500
- Oversight of multi state payroll, partnering with Finance on funding, reconciliations, and controls
- Coaching and developing your payroll direct report
- Compliance across ERISA, ACA, FLSA, COBRA, and state pay transparency laws
- Reporting that gives leadership visibility into total rewards spend and workforce trends
What we are looking for:
- 8 or more years of progressive total rewards experience with real depth in both compensation and benefits
- Track record building salary structures and running annual compensation cycles
- Experience owning benefits renewals and open enrollment, including broker management
- Comfort overseeing payroll, whether directly or through a team member
- Multi state compliance knowledge, particularly wage and hour
- Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the confidence to build models and defend recommendations
- HRIS experience such as ADP, Workday, UKG, or Paylocity
- Apparel, retail, or consumer products background is a plus, as is CCP or CBP certification
- People management experience, or clear readiness for a first direct report
