Master Scheduler – Manufacturing
Location: Bloomingdale, IL
Salary: $75,000–$108,000 annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite | Direct Hire/Perm
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to join a growing manufacturing operation in Bloomingdale, IL.
This position is responsible for managing the flow of materials from purchasing through production and developing the master production schedule to ensure customer delivery commitments, production requirements, and inventory goals are met.
The Master Scheduler will coordinate production scheduling, evaluate new order commitments, monitor material availability, and perform short- and long-term capacity planning using available forecasting and planning tools.
This role also provides leadership to scheduling department personnel and works closely with Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and plant leadership to identify constraints, resolve bottlenecks, and keep manufacturing operations on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on customer demand, material availability, capacity, and delivery requirements
- Ensure accuracy of customer order commitments and production schedules
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure the timely availability of required parts and materials
- Plan production activities and establish manufacturing priorities and sequences
- Evaluate new orders and product requirements to determine appropriate production schedules and resource needs
- Perform short- and long-term capacity and production planning
- Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production goals across manufacturing departments
- Utilize production specifications, manufacturing processes, material availability, and planning tools to develop production plans
- Closely monitor material and supply constraints and recommend production adjustments when necessary
- Identify current and potential manufacturing bottlenecks and work collaboratively with other departments to develop solutions
- Monitor production performance and provide status reports to plant leadership
- Partner with Customer Service to adjust shop orders and maintain accurate schedules
- Compile, maintain, and analyze production and scheduling data
- Support production planning for new product introductions
- Manage and develop scheduling department employees
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, coaching, and employee development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 8+ years of related manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or inventory/production control experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, inventory control, and material planning
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to evaluate production capacity, material availability, and customer requirements
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and overcome production challenges

Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing environment. Employees may occasionally work around moving mechanical equipment, vibration, electrical equipment, and moderate to loud production noise.
The position requires the ability to regularly sit, stand, communicate, and use hands and fingers. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
