Material Handler


This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing startup in the aerospace/defense industry as a

Material Handler. This position will play a vital role in keeping materials moving efficiently and on time across the lean manufacturing floor. You’ll proactively anticipate material requirements, deliver components precisely to the point of use, and ensure the prompt removal of finished goods and waste—minimizing disruptions and maximizing flow. Your work directly supports the rapid development of next-generation unmanned aerial systems (UAS) through accurate, timely, and fully traceable material movement. The ideal candidate will take strong ownership of their work, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems creatively in a dynamic, resource-constrained environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials and components in accordance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and clearly defined storage locations within warehouse and production areas.
  • Create and maintain records related to material quantities, costs, and inventory status for received, shipped, and on-hand items.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment by picking, packing, crating, labeling, loading, and securing product.
  • Deliver materials to workstations efficiently to support production schedules and build requirements.
  • Safely handle sensitive materials—including aerospace components, tools, and hazardous materials—in compliance with safety and traceability requirements.
  • Package and ship parts and assemblies to external vendors and field locations.
  • Perform inventory-related data entry and ensure accurate transaction logging within ERP and material tracking systems.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and technical teams to prevent material shortages and minimize production delays.
  • Support material kitting, stock replenishment, and routine cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by actively supporting 5S and shop organization initiatives.
  • Comply with all applicable quality, regulatory, and export control requirements, including AS9100, ISO, and ITAR.


Requirements And Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in material handling, logistics or similar role.
  • Previous shipping, receiving and/or inventory experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to safely lift and transport materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiar with basic ERP or inventory management software.
  • Comfortable working with hazardous materials under safety-controlled conditions.
  • Experience in a startup or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment a plus
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments a plus
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, part traceability, and quality control practices a plus
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization a plus
  • Experience complying with the FAR Part 52.244 and the DFARS part 252.244-7001 a plus
  • Must be a US citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance


Pay Rate (DOE): $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
