Position Summary

The organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Technician to provide timely and efficient repair and installation services for machinery primarily used in the folding carton product line. The technician will serve as the front-line representative, responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting their expectations at every stage of service. This role requires extensive travel and involves maintaining a strong focus on customer service excellence, technical problem-solving, and supporting the organization’s extensive global service network.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and installations of equipment, including setting up new machinery and relocating existing equipment.
• Provide customer training and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Order and manage parts necessary for installations and repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues, diagnose faults, and recommend appropriate service and maintenance solutions.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve service and machine reliability.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for field service issues, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction.
• Support the organization’s commitment to innovation, connectivity, digitalization, automation, and sustainability in packaging solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Technical education in mechanics, hydraulics, technology sciences, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the packaging or converting industry working as a mechanic, particularly on flat bed die cutters.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to diagnose faults accurately and recommend effective solutions within a customer environment.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong analysis skills with attention to detail.
• Independent and responsible work ethic.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Fluency with the metric system.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the US and Canada, ideally residing near a major international airport.
