Night Warehouse Manager
Lumera Search has been exclusively retained to to help our client, a well-established and growing distribution company find their next hands-on Night Warehouse Manager to lead and transform its evening warehouse operation. This is an opportunity for an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys taking ownership, building accountability, developing people, and improving operational performance. The successful candidate will inherit an established team and play a critical role in strengthening execution, accuracy, safety, and leadership across the night shift.
This is not simply a supervisory position. We are looking for someone who can lead from the front, establish high standards, develop managers and frontline leaders, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Only candidates with experience working alternative shifts will be considered.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Night Warehouse Manager will oversee a team of approximately 10 employees and lead the evening operation from order fulfillment through truck loading and building close.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead all aspects of the night warehouse operation, including order fulfillment, staging, loading, dispatch readiness, and shift execution.
- Ensure product accuracy and load quality before shipments leave the facility.
- Establish and enforce consistent operating standards, safety practices, and accountability throughout the shift.
- Develop and coach two frontline managers and a working lead, helping them become stronger floor leaders.
- Drive improvements in shipping accuracy, damage reduction, inventory integrity, and overall operational performance.
- Take ownership of nightly documentation, shipping records, exceptions, and communication with the day shift.
- Manage labor and staffing in alignment with business volume and operational needs.
- Investigate errors and operational issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and disciplined warehouse environment.
- Serve as the final point of accountability for the quality and readiness of outbound shipments.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on warehouse leader with a track record of improving operations and developing teams.
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years of warehouse operations leadership experience in building materials, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced shipping and distribution operation.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of truck loading, load planning, weight distribution, product protection, and safe material handling.
- Experience leading operational improvement or turnaround initiatives and delivering measurable results.
- Demonstrated ability to establish accountability and successfully lead through change.
- Experience developing supervisors and frontline leaders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including operational documentation and reporting.
- Comfort working with WMS or ERP systems and warehouse/inventory data.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- OSHA experience or certification is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required.
