Role Description The Operations Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Rancho Cordova, CA, responsible for overseeing daily transportation and logistics operations. This role coordinates dispatch activities, monitors shipment status, and ensures that loads are scheduled, routed, and completed efficiently and safely. The Operations Supervisor supports and guides operations staff, enforces company policies and procedures, and collaborates with carriers and internal teams to resolve service issues. Additional responsibilities include tracking performance metrics, analyzing workflow, implementing process improvements, and maintaining clear communication with customers and stakeholders. The role requires consistent on-site presence to manage team activities, support operational decisions, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, including team leadership, coaching, and performance management.
  • Experience in operations and operations management within transportation, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating operational performance, identifying issues, and implementing improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, carriers, and customers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of freight, routing, and scheduling processes; familiarity with transportation management or dispatching systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High level of reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and compliance standards.
  • Relevant education or training in logistics, business, or operations management is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
