Payroll/Accounting Specialist
Location: Buena Park/Anahiem, CA
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Required: ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll 250-400 employees using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, ensuring all new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions are entered correctly.
- Review payroll registers, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
- Administer garnishments, benefits deductions, taxes, and other payroll withholdings while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, quarterly reconciliations, year-end processing, and audit requests.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Partner with Human Resources regarding employee status changes, leave of absences, benefit updates, and payroll adjustments.
- Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders and receiving documents, and prepare invoices for payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues.
- Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and maintaining accurate accounts payable records.
- Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and maintaining organized financial documentation.
- Assist with other accounting and administrative projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is required.
- Experience processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Prior accounts payable and general accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of payroll regulations, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with discretion.
