Personal Lines / Commercial Lines Account Manager

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Personal Lines / Commercial Lines Account Manager to join their insurance team in Cypress, CA.

We are looking for candidates with experience in either Personal Lines or Commercial Lines insurance. The ideal candidate has 2–3+ years of hands-on experience working within an insurance brokerage or independent agency environment and is comfortable managing client accounts, coordinating with insurance carriers, and providing high-quality client service.

Candidates do not need to have experience in both Personal and Commercial Lines. Experience in either area will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your area of expertise, responsibilities may include:

• Manage and service an assigned book of insurance clients.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day client needs.
• Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, certificates/evidence of insurance, and other service requests.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers and underwriters regarding coverage, pricing, and policy requirements.
• Review policies and client insurance programs to identify coverage needs and potential gaps.
• Prepare proposals, coverage comparisons, applications, and supporting documentation.
• Support new business and renewal activities.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation within the agency management system.
• Provide responsive and professional service to clients, carriers, and internal team members.

Qualifications

• Native-level Japanese language proficiency with strong understanding of Japanese business culture
• 2–3+ years of insurance experience within an insurance brokerage or independent agency environment.
• Professional experience in Personal Lines OR Commercial Lines / Commercial P&C insurance.
• Experience managing or supporting a book of business.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, renewals, and endorsements within your area of expertise.
• Experience working directly with clients and insurance carriers.
• Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with an agency management system such as Applied Epic is a plus.
• Active California Property & Casualty License required.

Preferred Experience

Personal Lines Candidates

• Experience with Homeowners, Personal Auto, Umbrella, Renters, Condominium, and other personal insurance products.
• Experience managing a Personal Lines book of business.
• Experience working with multiple insurance carriers.
• High-net-worth or affluent Personal Lines experience is a plus.

Commercial Lines Candidates

• Experience with Commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
• Experience managing a Commercial Lines book of business.
• Experience with renewals, certificates of insurance, carrier submissions, and account marketing.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and policy structures.
• Experience working with middle-market commercial accounts is a plus.
