Job Summary
The Director, Procurement Production will support production procurement operations in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment, partnering with senior leadership, production teams, finance, legal, studio operations, and external suppliers. This role will manage procurement operating routines, negotiations, workflow, analytics, vendor coordination, and issue resolution while improving visibility and accountability across production spend. The position requires a highly independent professional who can work directly with senior executives, lead meetings, translate complex procurement data into actionable recommendations, and drive time-sensitive priorities to completion.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage procurement operating routines, including weekly pipeline reviews, monthly business reviews, and quarterly performance cadences.
- Serve as the process owner and administrator for Asana, maintaining initiative tracking, milestones, priorities, and cross-functional coordination.
- Manage procurement workflows from intake and prioritization through vendor evaluation, negotiation, approvals, and resolution.
- Partner with production procurement leadership, production finance, corporate finance, legal, studio operations, and production stakeholders to address procurement priorities.
- Lead vendor coordination and negotiations while supporting supplier strategy, cost management, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain procurement dashboards, KPIs, performance metrics, and data-driven reporting.
- Partner with finance teams to ensure procurement performance data is accurate, timely, and aligned with financial reporting requirements.
- Develop executive-level reporting and presentations that communicate procurement performance, pipeline health, risks, and value delivery.
- Lead meetings and communicate procurement priorities, vendor issues, production needs, and recommendations to senior executives.
- Standardize repeatable procurement processes, including stakeholder updates, vendor comparisons, approval tracking, and escalation procedures.
- Drive consistent use of procurement tools, shared trackers, and reporting processes across production procurement.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and streamline workflows to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
- Support implementation and adoption of new operating routines, tools, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor open items, risks, and dependencies and drive timely follow-up and resolution.
- Operate independently as a senior individual contributor while managing multiple time-sensitive priorities.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, production operations, production finance, sourcing, vendor management, or management consulting.
- Proven experience working directly with senior executives at the SVP level or above and independently managing executive-facing responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing operating cadences, governance routines, and performance management frameworks.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience developing procurement dashboards, KPIs, and data-driven reports.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency with project management, procurement, ERP, or workflow platforms such as Asana, Smartsheet, Oracle Fusion, Airtable, Excel, or comparable tools.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, negotiations, procurement workflows, and sourcing activities.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize strategically, and deliver results in fast-paced and highly cross-functional environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate business needs, vendor issues, and procurement data into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
- Strong process improvement skills, with experience using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.
- Solutions-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create structure, drive accountability, and close open items.
- Experience using AI-enabled capabilities for data analysis, reporting, or workflow improvement preferred.
- Experience supporting production, studio, media, entertainment, live events, or other project-based operating environments preferred.
- Experience managing complex, time-sensitive business environments preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
