Overview:
We do manufacturing and development of fuel system components specially on my team fuel injectors for diesel engines.
Focused on one particular fuel injector thats going to be a client engine product
Its a mix of design work working with suppliers and manufacturing folks kind of doing some collaboration and development on engineering prints and models but there is also a lot of time spent in the test lab. Checking the performance of our injectors as well as doing endurance testing and then doing inspections and measurements before and after those tests to ensure that the product is robust before it goes to the engine customer.
Its a combination of desk work as well a lab work.
We are doing product development, Ther are times when the tests don't go perfectly as planned and we have to do some investigation and problem solving and then some improvements to the product

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Product Development (NPI)

- Tolerance stack-up, o-ring calculations, bolted joint analysis
Typical task breakdown:
- Design, product development, and problem-solving meetings with suppliers, internal manufacturing, assembly and test teams
- Coordinate and conduct measurement, assembly and test planning
- Disassemble injectors, inspect, measure components after test, and compare results to pre-test condition
- Update engineering technical drawings and coordinate production releasing
- Provide routine progress updates to senior management
Interaction with team:
- Daily in-person and virtual interactions with complete team
Team Structure
- Five engineers and one test technician report to work director/manager
Work environment:
- Desk location in office (40-50%)
Test lab & factory (50-60%)
Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: 2-4 years
- Degree requirement: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes, if in a technical field and at least 3 months in duration

- Familiar with Design FMEA, validation planning and reporting (DVP&R)
- Experience with Client engineering systems is a plus (Teamcenter, PRWB, Creo)
