Location: San Fernando, CA | Onsite
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, DOE
About the Opportunity
An established manufacturing organization with more than six decades of experience in the flavor and juice processing industry is seeking an experienced Production Planner II to join its team.
This position plays an important role in keeping production running efficiently by coordinating schedules, materials, inventory, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of manufacturing production planning experience, strong ERP and Excel skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, inventory, and production requirements.
- Communicate production schedules, priorities, and updates across departments.
- Partner with Production, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, Shipping, and Receiving to keep production on schedule.
- Identify and help resolve material shortages, production downtime, scheduling conflicts, and inventory discrepancies.
- Provide Customer Service with product availability and work-order status updates.
- Monitor shortage reports and communicate production priorities to appropriate teams.
- Prepare detailed schedules for Production and Quality Control.
- Generate purchase requisitions for raw materials and packaging supplies as needed.
- Monitor packaging inventory to ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.
- Provide Shipping and Receiving with raw-material pull sheets for upcoming production.
- Maintain accurate production planning records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning efficiency and operational performance.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of manufacturing production planning experience
- Experience using an ERP system within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to report to other company facilities as business needs require, including with same-day notice
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
