Project Manager / Commercial Construction
We are conducting an exclusive search for a driven and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee large scale window and multi-trade construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Reporting to senior leadership, this is a hands-on role with ownership of project execution, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and overall financial performance. The Project Manager will work closely with Superintendents and internal leadership to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and meeting quality expectations.
Travel to worksites within a 90 mile radius of Syracuse is required to be successful in this position.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist with identifying and pursuing bidding opportunities, estimating, takeoffs, and bid preparation
- Review contracts, plans, specifications, and installation requirements
- Manage projects from award through closeout, including project setup and scheduling
- Establish project budgets, cost controls, labor plans, and financial projections
- Manage subcontractor/vendor buyout, material procurement, submittals, permits, and payment requisitions
- Coordinate with Superintendents and project teams to ensure materials, labor, equipment, and resources are in place
- Manage change orders, invoices, project expenditures, and overall financial performance
- Monitor project progress, address issues, and take corrective action to keep projects on track
- Conduct regular site visits and be on-site during project startup until operations are running smoothly
- Maintain project documentation, cost-to-complete reports, and production analysis
- Help mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Superintendents
What you bring:
- Commercial construction project management experience, preferably with commercial windows, building envelope, or multi-trade projects
- Strong estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and cost-control experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Experience with subcontractor/vendor management and material procurement
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
