Are you a Project Manager with a General Contractor who has considered moving to the developer side?

We’re partnered with a fully integrated real estate developer looking to add a construction-focused Project Manager to its Chicago team.

Previous development experience is not required.

This opportunity is designed for someone who understands how projects are built and now wants to represent the ownership group, oversee the GC and gain exposure to the complete development process.

The Opportunity

You will work across a national portfolio of high-profile multifamily and mixed-use developments, representing the developer throughout design, preconstruction and construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the General Contractor and external consultants
• Monitoring project budgets, schedules and overall risk
• Reviewing change orders, pay applications and project reporting
• Coordinating with design, construction and development partners
• Supporting projects from early planning through final delivery
• Helping resolve issues before they affect cost or schedule
• Gaining exposure to due diligence, entitlements, design and permitting

Travel is limited to approximately once per month.

What They’re Looking For

• Project Manager or Senior Project Manager experience with an established General Contractor
• Experience delivering ground-up commercial, multifamily, hospitality or mixed-use projects
• A strong understanding of budgets, schedules, contracts and construction coordination
• The ability to manage GCs, consultants and multiple project stakeholders
• An interest in moving beyond project delivery and learning the full development process
