LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to product quality, process improvement, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, IATF-driven setting. This position is ideal for a quality professional who thrives in machining or industrial manufacturing environments, brings a strong sense of urgency, and enjoys being hands-on with production teams.
The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in supporting internal and external quality performance by driving root cause analysis, leading corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This individual will collaborate closely with operations, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain robust quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigation and resolution of customer and internal quality concerns, including execution of structured corrective actions (8D methodology).
- Partner with production and engineering teams to identify root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems and procedures.
- Facilitate PPAP submissions, documentation, and customer requirements compliance.
- Monitor and drive use of statistical process control (SPC) and other process control methods across production.
- Conduct internal audits, layered process audits (LPAs), and ensure adherence to IATF and ISO standards.
- Review and disposition nonconforming materials and drive containment and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEA/FMEA documentation, and process flow diagrams.
- Ensure effective training and communication of quality standards and procedures across plant personnel.
- Oversee measurement system analysis (MSA), including gauge R&R studies and equipment validation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within industrial manufacturing.
- Strong experience supporting metal-based production environments (machining highly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with PPAP submissions and documentation.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO quality standards.
- Proficiency in GD&T and precision measurement techniques.
- Experience utilizing SPC, FMEA/PFMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to work with urgency and prioritize effectively in a production environment.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with experience managing quality-related interactions.
- Hands-on approach and comfort working both on the production floor and in office settings.
Compensation Range: $90,000 - $105,000 + 10% Bonus
