Full job description
Your New Company
Our client is a leading residential property management organization that oversees a diverse portfolio of condominiums, cooperatives, and residential communities throughout the New York market. The business is undergoing an exciting transformation, investing heavily in its U.S.-based finance function and bringing key financial responsibilities back onshore. With a strong reputation for delivering exceptional property management and financial reporting services, the company partners closely with property owners, boards, and operational leaders to drive financial performance and long-term value. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organization where finance plays a critical role in supporting strategic business decisions and property operations. Based in Midtown Manhattan, the company offers a collaborative environment with exposure to senior leadership and a broad real estate portfolio.
Your Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, you will act as the financial lead for a portfolio of approximately 20 residential properties, serving as the primary point of contact for all financial matters. You will oversee monthly financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and general ledger activity. Working closely with property managers, accounting teams, and board members, you will provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making. You will review property transactions, monitor account balances, ensure accurate billing and expense allocations, and help identify opportunities for operational improvements. The role also includes supporting annual audits, preparing budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and participating in special projects such as capital improvement planning and long-range financial projections.
What You Need to Succeed
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline and possess strong accounting and financial analysis fundamentals. For junior-level opportunities, candidates should have approximately 2-3 years of relevant experience, while senior-level candidates will typically bring 4+ years of experience managing financial reporting and analysis responsibilities. Experience within property management, real estate, multifamily, condominium, or HOA environments is highly preferred. Strong Excel skills are required, and experience using Yardi or similar property management software would be advantageous. Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
What You Will Get in Return
In return, you will have the opportunity to join a growing and high-impact finance team at an exciting stage of expansion. The position offers a competitive salary package, with opportunities available at both junior and senior levels ranging from approximately $100,000 to $140,000 depending on experience. Employees benefit from a hybrid work schedule, spending two days per week in the company's Midtown Manhattan office while maintaining flexibility to work remotely. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of residential property types, senior leadership teams, budgeting and forecasting activities, and strategic business initiatives. This role provides a clear opportunity to develop your expertise in real estate finance while building a long-term career with a well-established and respected organization.
