Job Title: Research & Development Scientist

Pay Rate: $43.47/Hour on W2

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and non-routine research, experimental design, and laboratory studies with minimal supervision.
• Independently select appropriate techniques, troubleshoot problems, and recommend technical solutions.
• Develop, optimize, and redesign experimental methods and processes.
• Support biomaterials development and scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing production.
• Analyze experimental data for validity, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Support technical feasibility assessments and medical device product development projects.
• Coordinate external testing, including sample shipment, timelines, communication, results, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with GxP, QSR, FDA, safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Work effectively with cross-functional R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
• Prepare clear technical reports and documentation and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 3–6 years of laboratory experience, or Master’s degree with 1–2 years of experience.
• Experience in research/product development, preferably in a GMP/QSR environment.
• Strong laboratory, experimental design, analytical, technical writing, and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve technical problems, and manage project timelines.

Preferred Experience:

• Lyophilization experience.
• Medical device product development experience.
• Knowledge/experience with Class II medical devices, FDA 510(k), and PMA.
• Experience with biomaterials development and manufacturing scale-up.
• Experience with method development and validation.
