About the Opportunity
A growing, multi-location organization is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to lead its Revenue Accounting and Accounts Receivable functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and partnering across the business to drive operational excellence.
Reporting directly to senior accounting leadership, this role will oversee a team of accounting professionals and be responsible for revenue accounting, customer billing, collections, accounts receivable operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure accurate and timely customer billing and invoicing
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, cash application, and revenue-related processes
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Receivable professionals
- Maintain customer pricing structures, commissions, and revenue-related master data within the ERP system
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to support business growth and customer setup activities
- Perform revenue, commission, rebate, and payment reconciliations
- Analyze revenue trends, collection performance, and financial metrics
- Develop reporting and dashboards for executive leadership
- Drive automation, process improvement, and operational efficiencies
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Participate in special projects and strategic accounting initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3+ years of management experience leading accounting or accounts receivable teams
- Strong experience with revenue accounting, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience within multi-location organizations, retail, hospitality, food service, franchise, or other complex operating environments
- Process improvement and accounting automation experience
