Safety Specialist

Full job description
The Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment for USA employees and temporary workers assigned to client sites. This role works closely with branch teams, clients, and employees throughout the Central Valley to assess risks, provide safety guidance, and ensure compliance with California regulations and company safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety assessments and regular visits to branch and client worksites.
- Provide guidance on safe work practices, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses and complete required documentation.
- Implement and support company safety programs, including injury prevention, emergency action, and workplace violence prevention plans.
- Conduct safety training, including general industry and industrial lift/truck training.
- Address safety concerns and enforce safety policies when necessary.
- Support the workers' compensation and modified-duty programs, including injury documentation and communication with medical providers.
- Partner with branch and operations teams to meet client safety requirements and support safety-sensitive positions.
- Maintain accurate safety records and stay current on applicable California safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing safety education, workshops, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including applicable California safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license required. Driving is an essential function of this position and includes regular travel to branch offices, client locations, and other work-related sites. Must be able to safely and lawfully operate a motor vehicle for work purposes and maintain driving eligibility in accordance with applicable law and company requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and travel regularly to branch and client worksites.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00/hour DOE
