Account Manager – Medical Imaging & Healthcare Sales

Location: Santa Monica, CA

Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person

Spectrum Medical Imaging Company is a privately held, full-service medical imaging equipment and healthcare supply distributor with more than 40 years of industry experience.

We support imaging centers, hospitals, medical facilities, and healthcare organizations nationwide with medical imaging equipment, contrast media, injector syringes, medical supplies, service, and related solutions.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Account Manager to manage and expand our existing customer accounts.

About the Role

The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of customers and will be responsible for customer retention, account growth, relationship management, and revenue expansion.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in account management, B2B sales, healthcare sales, medical device sales, medical supply sales, or medical imaging who enjoys building long-term customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow business within existing accounts.

You will work closely with customers to understand their purchasing needs, provide responsive service, identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities, and expand Spectrum's product footprint within each account.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management: Manage and develop a portfolio of existing healthcare and medical imaging customers while serving as their primary point of contact.

Account Growth: Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, product conversions, and expansion into additional departments or locations.

Customer Relationship Management: Build strong, long-term relationships with purchasing teams, imaging departments, administrators, and other key decision-makers.

Consultative Selling: Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate medical imaging products, contrast media, injector syringes, medical supplies, equipment, and services.

Customer Retention: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, responsiveness, problem-solving, and consistent follow-up.

Sales Strategy & Account Planning: Develop account strategies to increase customer penetration, revenue, retention, and overall account value.

Order & Customer Support: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing, timely fulfillment, and resolution of customer issues.

Pipeline & Opportunity Management: Identify and track new opportunities within existing accounts and maintain accurate next steps, opportunities, and account activity.

CRM Management: Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunities, contacts, and account information in Salesforce.

Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Monitor account performance, ordering trends, sales opportunities, and forecasts and communicate updates to management.

Market Awareness: Stay informed about customer needs, competitor activity, industry trends, pricing, and new product opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, Marketing, and Service teams to provide an excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in account management, B2B sales, inside sales, healthcare sales, medical device sales, medical supply sales, or a related customer-facing sales role

• Experience in medical imaging, healthcare, medical supplies, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare distribution is preferred

• Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships

• Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities

• Comfortable working with sales goals, account growth targets, and performance metrics

• Experience with CRM software; Salesforce experience preferred

• Experience with NetSuite and Microsoft Office is a plus

• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently

• Strong customer-service mindset and attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $45,000–$65,000 per year base + commission. Salary based on experience.

Work Location

This is a full-time, in-person position in Santa Monica, California. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting.
