Role Description The Sales & Events Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, CA. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of social and corporate events, including weddings, celebrations, retreats, and meetings. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to inquiries, conducting site visits, preparing proposals and contracts, managing event timelines, and serving as the primary contact for clients before, during, and after events. The Sales & Events Manager collaborates closely with catering, culinary, operations, and front office teams to ensure seamless event delivery and maximize guest satisfaction and revenue. The role also involves maintaining client relationships, prospecting new business, tracking event performance, and upholding brand standards and service excellence.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning, sales coordination, or hospitality management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
  • Strong skills in client relationship management, negotiation, and customer service, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in organizing event logistics, managing timelines, and handling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfort with using office software and event or CRM systems to prepare proposals, maintain records, and track sales and event performance.
  • Ability to work on-site, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with operations, culinary, and front-of-house teams to deliver high-quality events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email, proposal writing, and presentation abilities.
  • Relevant education or training in hospitality, events, business, or a related field; comparable experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of the Santa Barbara market and luxury hospitality standards is an advantage.
