SAT & ACT Instructor / Tutor – Nassau County

Part-Time | $45–$60 per hour | Paid Training

Method Learning is hiring strong educators to teach SAT and ACT preparation classes at high schools throughout Nassau County, Long Island.

You do not need to be an experienced SAT or ACT tutor to be successful in this role. If you are an effective teacher or communicator who connects well with high school students, we provide the curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and paid training you need to teach our programs.

Before You Apply

• You have reliable personal transportation and can drive to schools throughout Nassau County.
• You have weekday evening availability between approximately 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

Classroom instruction at local schools is a core part of this position. This is not a remote-only tutoring role.

What You’ll Do

As a Method Learning instructor, you will:

• Teach SAT and ACT preparation classes at partner high schools throughout Nassau County.
• Deliver clear, engaging instruction using Method Learning’s established curriculum and materials.
• Help students strengthen their academic skills, confidence, and test-taking strategies.
• Maintain a positive, organized classroom environment that encourages participation and learning.
• Complete basic responsibilities such as attendance, session notes, and class communication.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring remotely and, when appropriate, in person.

Most school-based classes take place on weekday evenings, often on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedules.

We Provide the Curriculum

You will not be expected to create lesson plans or develop your own SAT or ACT program.

Your job is to learn the Method approach, teach the material effectively, connect with students, and create a strong learning experience.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with high school students
• Professionalism, reliability, and organization
• Reliable personal transportation
• Weekday evening availability between approximately 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM

Preferred

• Classroom teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience teaching Math and/or English
• SAT or ACT teaching or tutoring experience
• Comfort teaching both the Math and English sections of the SAT and ACT

SAT or ACT experience is helpful, but it is not required. Strong educators and communicators who are willing to learn our curriculum are encouraged to apply.

We also welcome experienced Math or English educators who prefer to teach within their primary subject area.

Schedule and Hours

This is a part-time, hourly position.

Opportunities may include:

• Weekday evening SAT and ACT classes at Nassau County high schools
• Remote one-on-one tutoring
• Afternoon and evening tutoring
• Optional weekend tutoring opportunities based on your availability
• Optional in-person tutoring assignments

Hours vary based on class schedules, student demand, and your availability.

We are hiring now so new instructors can complete training and be ready for upcoming Fall 2026 programs.

Compensation

$45–$60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Exceptional candidates with extensive SAT or ACT instructional experience may be considered for higher compensation.

Paid training is provided.
