Credentialed School Nurse (CSN) – IEP Health Assessments
Part-Time | Per Diem W-2 | Hybrid/Remote | $65/hour
Backstage Health is seeking a California Credentialed School Nurse (CSN) to complete IEP-related health assessments for virtual academy students. This flexible, assignment-based position is ideal for a school nurse looking for supplemental work that can be completed largely on their own schedule.
Most responsibilities are completed remotely. In-person travel is primarily for vision and hearing screenings, which are coordinated directly with families based on mutual availability.
Responsibilities
* Complete initial and triennial IEP health assessments
* Review medical, developmental, and educational records
* Interview parents/guardians and gather relevant health history
* Prepare individualized School Nurse Health Assessment Reports
* Complete in-person vision and hearing screenings
* Coordinate screening appointments directly with families
* Participate virtually in IEP meetings and present health findings when required
* Collaborate with parents, case managers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
* Maintain timely and accurate documentation using secure electronic systems
Required Qualifications
* Active California RN license
* California School Nurse Services Credential — Preliminary or Clear
* California School Audiometrist Certificate
* Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and managing assignment deadlines
* Reliable computer, internet access, and transportation
