Position Overview

A large, well-established organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. This position will support a variety of accounting, financial reporting, and special project activities within a complex corporate environment.

The role offers exposure to senior finance leadership, multiple areas of corporate accounting, strategic business initiatives, and cross-functional projects. It is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional month-end accounting and gain exposure to more complex corporate finance and accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with accounting and reporting for various corporate activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Support accounting activities associated with business acquisitions, investments, and other transactions.
  • Assist with the financial integration of newly acquired or reorganized businesses.
  • Support consolidation activities involving multiple business units and legal entities.
  • Research accounting matters and assist with preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Work with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual review processes.
  • Participate in accounting systems, reporting, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with financial data conversion, mapping, and reporting activities related to business or system changes.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, IT, and other corporate functions on various projects.
  • Support special projects and other corporate accounting initiatives as needed.
  • Cross-train within other areas of the Corporate Accounting organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience working within a larger or more complex corporate accounting environment preferred.
  • Public accounting and/or public-company experience is a plus.
  • Experience with large ERP or financial reporting systems preferred.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, integrations, consolidations, investments, or technical accounting is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across different departments and levels of an organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
