Full job description

Senior Accountant

Industry: Healthcare Investment Firm

Brooklyn, NY 11232 | Fully On-Site | Up to $110K Base

A healthcare-focused investment firm that acquires and grows companies across revenue cycle management, billing/RCM technology, MSO, behavioral health, home health, and non-emergency medical transportation is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to support its expanding portfolio. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role blends hands-on accounting with high-level analytical work across multiple entities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The Role

This position is roughly 70% financial reporting and accounting/finance operations, and 30% analytical and strategic finance work — offering broad exposure well beyond a traditional corporate accounting seat.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across multiple entities in compliance with U.S. GAAP and healthcare reporting standards
  • Lead the monthly close process — general ledger review, account reconciliations, and intercompany eliminations
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations: AR/AP, payroll, treasury, leases, and fixed assets
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants on statutory, tax, and audit requirements
  • Support M&A activity through financial due diligence, purchase accounting/purchase price allocations, and post-acquisition integration
  • Analyze month-over-month financial trends and variances, identifying the drivers behind changes in the statements
  • Review financials of target and portfolio companies to assess risk and inform investment decisions
  • Develop and report on financial KPIs; support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and lender reporting
  • Partner with leadership across portfolio companies to strengthen internal controls and improve finance processes post-acquisition
  • Mentor and supervise accounting staff

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of public and/or private accounting experience; healthcare industry experience a strong plus
  • Solid audit background and strong analytical, investigative approach to financial statements
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups/index-match, SUMIFS, dynamic schedules)
  • Strong technical grasp of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidations
  • Experience with an ERP/GL system (QBO, Sage 50, Sage Intacct, or similar)
  • Self-motivated and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a growth-stage environment
