Senior Accountanting Manager / Controller - Constuction Only

The Accent Group has been specializing in construction, restoration and painting services for residential and commercial properties in the tri-state area since 1994. Headquartered in Nutley, New Jersey, the Accent Group offers a wide range of services like interior and exterior painting, window replacements, deck installation/refinishing, roofing, siding and masonry services.

We currently have an opportunity for an Senior Accounting Manager / Controller who will be responsible for managing and coordinating all financial activities within an organization. This includes overseeing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with laws and regulations, and supporting strategic business decisions through financial analysis and forecasting The position will report directly to the COO and on-site, in office 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, delegate tasks, and manage training

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management Prepare, review, and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders .

• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve discrepancies

• Manage cash flow

• Responsible for WIP and month end closing

• Bank reconciliations

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving financial performance

• Perform financial analysis of Projects

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Proven experience within construction

• Strong Knowledge of accounting practices

• Proficiency in Acumatica

• Ability to lead a team, manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines

• Advanced ability to manage cash flow
