Our client, a growing marketing organization in Bergen County, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions, supervise staff, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and oversee the work of Staff Accountants.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses.
  • Oversee financial statement consolidations and reporting activities.
  • Support treasury and cash management functions, including cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, SOX compliance processes, and accounting policies.
  • Serve as a key contact for external auditors and manage audit support activities.
  • Coordinate tax compliance activities and work closely with external tax advisors.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Partner with leadership, operations, and other stakeholders on strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies throughout the accounting function.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage accounting staff while preparing for increased leadership responsibilities.


Ideal Candidate

This role is ideal for a CPA with a foundation in public accounting who has successfully transitioned into industry and developed broad accounting leadership experience. The ideal candidate is technically strong, business-minded, and eager to take on increasing responsibility with a clear path toward becoming an Assistant Controller.
