About the Role
We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Santa Ana, CA to find a Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant to take ownership of their full-cycle AR function. This is a hands-on role for a proactive go-getter who's comfortable working directly with customers to collect outstanding receivables, dig into payment discrepancies, and continuously improve billing and cash collection processes. This is a Direct Hire Opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Own the day-to-day, full-cycle AR process — invoicing, cash application, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and distribute accurate customer invoices based on sales orders, POs, shipping documentation, and contract terms.
- Manage the AR aging and proactively pursue collection of past-due balances through direct customer conversations.
- Build strong working relationships with customer accounts payable contacts.
- Investigate and resolve short pays, unapplied cash, disputed invoices, and pricing discrepancies.
- Prepare AR aging reports and reconciliations, and support month-end close.
- Identify and implement improvements to invoicing, collections, and AR controls.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressive AR or accounting experience, with strong hands-on collections experience.
- Proven ability to communicate directly and professionally with customers on past-due balances.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, invoicing, reconciliations, cash application, and basic accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Manufacturing or contract manufacturing experience highly preferred; Global Shop ERP experience a plus.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm - Full-time, on-site in Santa Ana, CA.
Compensation: $68,640 - $72,800 ($33 – $35/hour), based on experience
