Our elite global Law Firm client is seeking to recruit an experience Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal to work closely with attorneys and clients to support debtor and creditor side matters in complex Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructuring cases.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with attorneys and clients to support debtor and creditor side matters in complex Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructuring cases
- Communicate with attorneys and clients on filing, process and case administration matters
- File notices of appearance, motions, notices of cancellation, notices of presentment, pro hac vices and other documents using ECF/PACER/PacerPro in various jurisdictions including the Southern District of New York, Delaware, New Jersey and the Southern District of Texas
- Supervise and train junior paralegals
- Provide administrative support for adversary proceedings, including automatic stay disputes, avoidance actions, and claims objections
- Proofread and cite-check briefs, motions, and exhibits
- Oversee and manage docket and case calendars across multiple active bankruptcy matters, tracking deadlines for filings, hearings, and claims bar dates
- Prepare trial and hearing materials, including exhibit lists, binders, and witness lists
- Support invoicing, billing, and preparation of fee applications for restructuring matters
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and Courtlink
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Paralegal experience with bankruptcy court procedures and practices
- Demonstrated experience working law firm's bankruptcy group representing debtors and creditors in complex Chapter 11 matters
- Fundamental knowledge of Chapter 11 reorganization process and related documents such as SoFAs, fee applications, disclosure statements and plans of reorganization
- Experience e-filing in US Bankruptcy and District Courts
- Proficiency with the two core systems for filing in US federal courts: Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/EDF) and Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER)
- Highly motivated with strong attention to detail, accuracy and accountability
- MS Office proficiency
- Ability to work overtime (infrequently)
- Strong business writing and communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certification
