Senior Childrenswear Designer

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Childrenswear Designer to join their growing design team in New Jersey. This role will be responsible for developing trend-right children’s apparel collections from concept through production, working closely with merchandising, sales, sourcing, product development, and overseas factories.

Responsibilities

• Design seasonal childrenswear collections across baby and kids’ categories.
• Research trends, colors, fabrics, prints, graphics, and silhouettes.
• Create CADs, sketches, colorways, prints, and graphic artwork.
• Develop commercially relevant product based on market trends and business needs.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Sales, Sourcing, and Product Development teams.
• Select fabrics, trims, colors, and materials while considering quality and target costs.
• Create and maintain tech packs and detailed product specifications.
• Review samples and provide detailed design comments and revisions.
• Communicate with overseas vendors and factories throughout the development process.
• Manage multiple styles, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure products meet design, quality, cost, and production requirements.
