Senior Civil Engineer

We are partnered with a landscape architecture practice in San Diego who are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with 10–15 years of experience to join the team.

This role is ideal for someone who brings strong technical expertise while being genuinely interested in landform, grading, drainage, and the shaping of outdoor spaces. The projects are public-facing and design-driven, and therefore civil engineering is an integral part of the landscape design process.

Responsibilities:

• Lead civil engineering efforts from concept through construction.
• Develop grading, drainage, stormwater, earthwork, and site infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate closely with landscape architects, architects, and other consultants.
• Help translate ambitious landscape concepts into thoughtful, buildable solutions.
• Prepare grading plans, technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Support permitting, agency coordination, and construction administration.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of our civil engineering capabilities.

Qualifications:

• 10–15 years of civil engineering experience, ideally within or alongside a landscape architecture practice.
• California PE license or ability to obtain one.
• Strong experience with grading, drainage, stormwater, and site development.
• Experience with public-facing landscapes, parks, streetscapes, civic spaces, campuses, or similar projects.
• Familiarity with Southern California conditions, including water conservation and stormwater management.
