Our client, an elevated childrenswear apparel manufacturer is seeking a Senior Denim Designer to join their team in NYC!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the seasonal design process from initial concept through final handoff, including color, print, graphics, silhouette, and overall product direction.
- Develop cohesive assortments and collections that align with brand aesthetic, customer needs, and merchandising objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Technical Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and Production teams.
- Provide direction on garment fit, construction, fabrication, and finishing.
- Collaborate on the development of new silhouettes and product categories, incorporating prints and graphics.
- Create coordinated print stories, matching sets, and cohesive collections.
- Revise and update artwork as needed, including scaling prints, recreating repeats, recoloring artwork, and adapting designs.
- Create, maintain, and update accurate tech packs and supporting design documentation.
- Review samples and provide clear comments.
- Manage multiple projects and seasonal timelines.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
- Analyze sales performance and other relevant data to help inform future design direction and assortment strategies.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience, preferably with experience in children's, baby, or similar product categories.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design, print, color, and product development experience.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and product development.
- Experience creating and revising technical sketches, artwork, repeats, and tech packs.
- Strong eye for color, print, and proportion.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Salary: $100,000k-$115,000k commensurate with experience
Hybrid, 4 days on site
