Earth Breeze is looking for a Senior Formulation Chemist to support product improvement and innovation across our formulations and processes.
As a Senior Formulation Chemist (reporting to the Director of R&D), you’ll be responsible for developing new formula prototypes, running lab testing, and maintaining quality control to ensure our products stay consistent and reliable. Responsibilities:
As Senior Formulation Chemist at Earth Breeze, you will…
- Develop new formula prototypes and run lab testing, under the direction of the Director of R&D, to support ongoing product innovation
- Partner with cross-functional teams on managing technical readiness for assigned projects
- Participate in production trials at Earth Breeze’s manufacturing facilities. Support R&D process development engineer with scaling-up from lab to pilot plant through manufacturing production.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, stability testing, and analytical results to ensure accurate documentation and traceability
- Analyze and interpret test results to surface insights that drive product enhancement
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency and reliability of products
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development Team and cross-functional stakeholders, providing real-time updates on testing progress for turnkey formulations
- Maintain laboratory safety protocols in accordance with county and state regulations
- Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and raw materials to keep testing on schedule
- Partner with external partners and suppliers to stay current on industry trends and advancements
About You:
You have…
- Experience in Home Care formulation (laundry, APC, ADW, floor cleaner, etc)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to deal with uncertainty and quickly pivoting according to the needs of the business
- A detail-oriented mindset suited to precise recordkeeping and data-driven work
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), mixtures experiments, and statistical approaches to formulating and developing chemical-based products
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of formulation and product development experience in personal care, beauty, or home care products
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP software for ANOVA, DOE, Process Control)
