A growing, $200M general contractor headquartered in downtown Chicago is looking to add a Senior Project Manager to its leadership team.


The company is coming off a record-breaking year and already has the secured pipeline to deliver another year of significant growth. With several high-value projects moving forward across the greater Chicagoland area, they are looking for an experienced construction professional who can lead major multifamily, mixed-use and commercial developments from preconstruction through closeout.


This is an opportunity to join an established contractor during an exciting period of expansion, take ownership of prominent local projects and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the business.


Responsibilities

  • Lead high-value multifamily, commercial and mixed-use projects throughout the greater Chicagoland area
  • Manage projects from preconstruction and procurement through construction and final closeout
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, cost reporting, contracts and change management
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal field teams
  • Work closely with Superintendents to maintain project quality, safety and schedule
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting to clients and senior leadership
  • Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Identify project risks early and develop practical solutions
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to repeat business


Candidate Profile

  • At least 8 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Proven experience managing large or complex projects for a general contractor
  • Experience with multifamily, mixed-use or commercial construction preferred
  • Strong knowledge of project financials, scheduling, contracts and change management
  • Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and make confident project decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field preferred


Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary up to $170,000, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus generally between 15% and 20%
  • $800 monthly vehicle allowance
