Service Center Manager

Summary:

The Service Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of terminal operations, including productivity, safety, compliance, staffing, and customer service. This leadership role ensures smooth day-to-day performance across loading, unloading, transport planning, and driver management, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

 Manage, direct and maintain all functions within a terminal, including but not limited to, productivity, service, safety, CSA performance, service level agreements, loading/unloading, transport planning, human resources.

 Implement and track service goals through reviews of operating expenses.

 Support customer relationships when required.

 Ensure that safety, service, and quality measures are implemented and monitored.

 Ensure that a safe working environment is provided for all employees.

 Implement understanding and compliance with all Company policies, procedures and federal and state Department of Transportation rules and regulations.

 Create an atmosphere of leadership and teamwork that values the contributions of all employees in support of a sustainable, safe performance culture.

 Lead and develop internal staff and educate where applicable.

 Leads the terminal by example with a "can do" attitude through people management excellence.

 Closely works with operations daily.

 Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:

 Minimum 4 years’ experience in transportation management along with a thorough, demonstrated understanding of terminal operations. Flexible working hours.

 Knowledge of transportation operations and laws, federal safety regulations and maintenance requirements a plus.

 Must possess verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

 Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, direct and lead multiple tasks at once.

 Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products is required.

 The ability to work with a team or individually in a fast-paced environment.

 Knowledge of correct material/freight handling - loading techniques.

 Knowledge of Hazardous Materials handling.

 Forklift experience.

 Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

 Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds.
