Role: Siemens TIA Portal Controls Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA – Onsite

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Siemens TIA Portal Controls Engineer to support industrial automation and manufacturing operations at a high-volume manufacturing facility in Fremont, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, PLC programming, controls integration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and equipment optimization within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Support controls integration, equipment startup, commissioning, testing, and debugging activities.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, electrical controls, automation, and equipment-related issues to minimize production downtime.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and automation engineering teams to support production equipment.
• Perform onsite commissioning, system testing, debugging, and controls optimization.
• Support automated production lines and manufacturing equipment throughout installation, startup, and production.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, equipment reliability, and production efficiency.
• Assist with troubleshooting of HMIs, sensors, drives, I/O, and other industrial controls hardware.
• Follow all applicable site safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Solid experience in PLC programming and Controls Engineering.
• Proven experience with controls integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and commissioning.
• Previous experience supporting industrial automation or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, onsite manufacturing environment.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in automotive, battery, robotics, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting automated production lines and complex manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial sensors, drives, HMIs, I/O systems, and electrical controls hardware.
• Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, and production support.
• Experience working in demanding manufacturing environments where equipment uptime, reliability, and throughput are critical.
