Job Title: Sourcing Manager – NA Packaging

Pay Rate: 80-98 per hour

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid: 2–3 days in office)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Contract Duration: October 2026 – February 2027

Travel: Approximately 15% domestic travel (No international travel)

Position Overview

Mars is seeking a results-oriented Sourcing Manager – NA Packaging to lead strategic procurement initiatives across North America. Operating in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment, this role is responsible for executing sourcing strategies, leading complex supplier negotiations, maintaining price forecasting accuracy, and delivering key value-creation projects.

Working independently and navigating ambiguity, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners in Procurement, Operations, Supply, R&D, Quality, and Finance to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Strategic Sourcing & Negotiations: Drive end-to-end sourcing events, contract development, and advanced negotiations beyond basic commercial terms for direct packaging materials.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Manage key supplier relationships, foster commercial alignment, and evaluate vendor performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (R&D, Quality, Supply, Operations, Finance) to implement sourcing decisions, deliver business commitments, and navigate conflicting priorities.
• Commercial & Price Management: Maintain accurate pricing, contract documentation, and commodity/index-based pricing models following sourcing events.
• Financial Oversight & Reporting: Track and evaluate key financial metrics, including Purchase Price Variance (PPV), forecasting, budgeting, and monthly price reviews.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Take ownership of sourcing workstreams, connecting data analysis and insights directly to recommendations and execution without waiting for daily task delegation.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

• Price Forecast Accuracy: Evaluated on a monthly basis.
• On-Time Contract Execution: Timely delivery based on target due dates.
• Value Creation: On-time delivery of savings projects and strategic initiatives.
• Pricing Updates: Timely and accurate price reviews and updates according to contract terms.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Procurement Experience: Minimum 5+ years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience.
• Packaging Expertise: Minimum 2 years of dedicated packaging sourcing experience.
• Negotiation & Contracting: Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and delivering complex supplier contracts.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret spend, pricing, market trends, commodity index data, and complex commercial scenarios using Advanced Excel.
• Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated capability to influence without direct authority and resolve disagreements across matrixed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the FMCG / CPG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods / Consumer Packaged Goods) sector.
• Experience in direct materials within manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to regional or global sourcing organizations.
• Hands-on experience with cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and commodity-based pricing.
• Technical proficiency in SAP.
• Experience driving sourcing transformation, automation, or process improvements.
