Full job description
InSync Consulting Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher - Mild/Moderate to join our school-based team in Fairfield, California for the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a full-time opportunity supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in a collaborative school environment. The Special Education Teacher will work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, families, and other members of the special education team to support student academic, behavioral, and functional growth.
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about supporting students, comfortable managing IEP responsibilities, and eager to be part of a team that values communication and collaboration.
Compensation
- Up to $75 per hour
- Full-time schedule of 36.25 hours per week
- Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized academic instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Track and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Conduct or assist with educational assessments as appropriate
- Maintain accurate special education documentation and student records
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusion and access to curriculum
- Implement appropriate behavioral and classroom management strategies
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
Qualifications
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild to Moderate Support Needs, or eligibility to obtain appropriate authorization
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education processes
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Previous school-based or special education teaching experience preferred
