We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Attorney to support the legal and compliance functions of our organization. This role sits in the Legal Department and is responsible for the management, organization, and tracking of corporate contracts, leases, and insurance matters. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and brings a high degree of accuracy and discretion to every task. MUst


Responsibilities (other duties as may be assigned)

Contract Management

• Maintain and organize the company's contract repository, ensuring all agreements are current, properly executed, and accurately filed

• Track contract expiration dates, renewal windows, and key milestones; provide timely notice to the CFO and SVP of Human Resources

• Assist in the review, drafting, and redlining of standard commercial contracts under attorney supervision

• Coordinate execution of agreements including routing for signature and maintaining fully executed copies

• Liaise with internal departments and external counterparties on contract-related inquiries

• Provide continuing counsel on Company compliance and legal matters and liaise with internal staff to define and develop Company policies, procedures and programs as well as ensure the Company conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

• Assist with Legal Department oversight and support to Human Resources department including drafting Employment Agreements, Releases, as well as reviewing staffing and placement agency agreements

• Analyze the merits of matters filed against or on behalf of the Company, work with appropriate parties to define a strategy

• Liaise with outside legal counsel


Lease Administration

• Review, redline and provide advice on incoming commercial warehouse and office lease agreements to identify key terms, obligations, and risk factors, and present findings to the management prior to execution

• Organize and maintain all real property and equipment lease files

• Track lease commencement dates, expiration dates, rent escalations, and renewal options

• Coordinate with facilities and finance teams on lease-related obligations

• Assist in abstracting key lease terms for internal reporting purposes


Insurance Administration

• Maintain the company's insurance policy files and certificate of insurance records

• Track policy renewal dates and coordinate with brokers on renewals and coverage updates

• Respond to requests for certificates of insurance from vendors, landlords, and counterparties

• Assist in compiling information required for insurance applications and renewals

• Support claims reporting and documentation as needed


General Legal Support

• Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence

• Conduct legal research and summarize findings as directed

• Maintain organized filing systems for all legal and compliance documents

• Handle confidential information with the highest degree of discretion

• Support the CFO, SVP of Human Resources, and other executives on special projects and legal matters as they arise


Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from and accredited law school and active bar membership in New York (required)

• 2-3 years of legal experience in-house or in a law firm environment (litigation or real estate experience a plus)

• Experience with contract management, lease administration, or insurance coordination preferred

• Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High degree of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion

• Ability to make effective presentations on legal issues to the board of directors, senior management, and sales groups

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
