Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project management activities for the planning and implementation of a state-sponsored EHR solution.
  • Coordinate activities across vendors, state agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor contracts, project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead requirements gathering, landscape assessments, gap analyses, and market research related to EHR solutions.
  • Support EHR platform procurement and implementation partner selection.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in enterprise healthcare software implementation.
  • Manage complex, cross-vendor and multi-stakeholder project activities.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of EHR reporting feeds and interoperability with the Rhode Island Department of Health, health plans, and Health Information Exchange.
  • Monitor outcomes and reporting data from the selected EHR solution.
  • Ensure project activities align with applicable healthcare, security, privacy, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, status updates, timelines, risks, issues, and deliverables.


Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing EHR implementation, migration, or conversion projects.
  • Experience managing enterprise software implementations, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health IT interoperability and clinical data standards.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare technology, data exchange, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, gap analysis, and/or technology landscape assessments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities and track deliverables across a large stakeholder group.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, a licensed health profession, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) or Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs).
  • Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, clinical data exchange, and healthcare interoperability.
  • Experience with HIPAA, healthcare data privacy/security, and state or federal healthcare reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting public-sector or government healthcare IT initiatives.
  • Experience managing EHR procurement and implementation partners.
