Job Summary:

The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

* Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or in collaboration with supplier firm

* Log quality issues and arrange for corrections to models

* Perform model setup, submit jobs to high-performance computing cluster

* Perform simulations of static, modal, and dynamic simulations

* Develop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigue

* Author reports containing assumptions, models and results

* Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partners

* Contribute to and participate in peer reviews

* Contribute to improvements in simulation methods and processes

Required Qualifications

✔ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent MS/PhD experience)

✔ Strong understanding of dynamics, material properties, and fatigue

✔ Experience with structural simulations including static, vibration, dynamic, nonlinear, fracture, and fatigue analyses

✔ Hands-on experience with ABAQUS and HyperMesh

✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Machine dynamic simulation experience

⭐ Nonmetallic structural simulation experience

⭐ User-defined material modeling experience

⭐ Machine/structural design and validation background

⭐ Creo (Pro/E) experience

Education

- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Field plus 5-7

- MS similarly plus 2-4

- PhD similarly plus 1-2

- Industrial experience in structural analysis, preferably with a focus on static and/or dynamic analysis
