Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Survey Manager to lead surveying operations, manage complex projects, and provide technical leadership within a growing engineering and surveying practice.
This role is designed for a senior-level surveying professional who can oversee project delivery, mentor survey teams, manage client relationships, and improve operational processes across private land development and public works projects throughout Southern California.
The ideal candidate brings strong California surveying experience, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage both technical execution and client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee surveying operations, project execution, staffing, and workflow management
- Manage key client relationships and serve as the primary contact for major projects
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to survey teams
- Manage project planning, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
- Review proposals, cost estimates, and project scopes
- Ensure quality control of survey deliverables including CAD drawings, legal descriptions, and boundary analysis
- Coordinate with public agencies, consultants, and contractors
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency
- Support business development efforts, client engagement, and proposal strategy
- Lead hiring, training, workload planning, and performance development initiatives
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive land surveying experience
- Experience with private land development and public works projects in California
- 4+ years of leadership experience managing survey teams or departments
- Strong knowledge of California surveying standards and municipal requirements
- Proven ability to manage complex survey projects from start to finish
- Strong client-facing and business development skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey-related software
