If you thrive on solving complex accounting puzzles, value a flexible work environment, and want broad exposure across a vibrant industry leader, this role is a fantastic fit. We are seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting who brings strong analytical skills, a warm collaborative spirit, and a background in public accounting or technical advisory.
- Location: Culver City, CA (Flexible Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
- Pay Range: $75.00 – $95.00 / hour
- Assignment Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for extension)
- Team Environment: Individual contributor role (no direct reports) with broad exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Flexible Hybrid Work Culture: Choose the 3 onsite days that work best for your lifestyle and enjoy 2 work-from-home days each week.
- Broad Business Exposure: Rather than being siloed, you will act as a trusted advisor across multiple business units, working directly with Legal, FP&A, Business Development, and external partners.
- Warm, Collaborative Team: Join an encouraging environment that values innovation, adaptability, and an Agile mindset—where your expertise is genuinely appreciated.
- Career Growth & Mobility: Gain high-visibility experience that builds deep familiarity with complex, global operations.
What You Will Do
As a key technical accounting resource, you will support diverse financial initiatives and proactively consult on unique accounting matters:
- Perform technical accounting research and draft clear white papers, accounting memoranda, and guidance on complex transactions (revenue recognition, M&A, lease accounting, and more).
- Collaborate closely with line-of-business experts to align current practices with IFRS technical standards and corporate policies.
- Assist in reviewing management reports, quarterly/annual disclosures, and audit preparations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on transaction-related due diligence, special projects, and new accounting standard implementations.
- Adapt to a tech-savvy, multi-system environment, stepping in as a versatile subject matter expert across various financial applications.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally originating from a Big 4 or large public accounting firm.
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP, with proven experience conducting in-depth accounting research and technical documentation.
- Adaptability & Tech Savvy: Comfortable serving as a versatile resource across various tools (Excel, analytical software, and AI-enabled tools) without relying on a single specific system.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-accounting stakeholders.
Entertainment industry experience is a bonus, but certainly not required—we welcome diverse industry backgrounds!
Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
