Full job description
Associate Veterinarian
Huffard Animal Hospital | Pasadena, Maryland
At Huffard Animal Hospital, we believe great medicine starts with supporting the people who practice it.
We're a well-established, community-focused small animal hospital in Pasadena, MD, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team. Whether you're an experienced doctor looking for a collaborative environment or a newer graduate seeking mentorship and support, you'll find a team that genuinely enjoys working together and helping one another succeed.
Why Huffard?
Compassion. Care. Commitment.
It's more than our motto. It guides how we care for our patients, support our clients, and treat each other as teammates.
We are intentional about creating an environment where high-quality medicine and personal well-being can coexist. Our doctors are empowered to practice excellent veterinary care while maintaining healthy boundaries, flexibility, and a sustainable work-life balance.
A Truly Collaborative Medical Team
One of the things that makes Huffard special is our culture.
Our doctors don't practice in silos. Cases are discussed openly, second opinions are welcomed, and collaboration is encouraged every day. You'll work alongside a mix of seasoned veterinarians and more recently graduated doctors, giving you access to both proven clinical experience and the latest medical approaches.
This is a judgment-free environment where questions are encouraged, support is readily available, and teammates consistently show up for one another, both professionally and personally.
Practice Medicine the Way You Were Trained To
Our loyal and trusting client base values veterinary care and is often willing to pursue appropriate diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations. That means you'll have the opportunity to think through cases, collaborate with colleagues, and make decisions based on what's best medically, not simply what's quickest.
Flexibility Built Into Our Culture
We recognize that every veterinarian has different strengths, interests, and priorities.
Whether you enjoy surgery, prefer longer appointments, want to focus on wellness and preventative care, or need a schedule that supports your current stage of life, we'll work with you to build a role that fits. Flexibility at Huffard isn't reactive. It's part of who we are.
What We Offer
Competitive base salary of $120,000-$140,000+ (commensurate with experience)
Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Comprehensive benefits package
Paid licensing and professional dues
Continuing education support
Paid parental leave
Life in Pasadena, Maryland
