Augusta Valley Animal Hospital, our General Practice hospital located in Staunton, Virginia, is seeking to hire a Veterinarian to join our team!

Augusta Valley Animal Hospital is a high-volume, well-established, full-service veterinary hospital that strives to deliver excellent veterinary care to every client and patient that walks through our doors. Our team is made up of kind, caring, compassionate, and dedicated staff members who help to provide progressive pet care, while building long-lasting bonds with our clients and their pets. This location is AHAA-accredited.

About the area: Staunton is conveniently located at the intersection of I-81 and I-64. Staunton is the perfect base from which to explore Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city’s charming downtown is home to a vibrant arts and music scene, a sizzling reputation for local food and dining, and a cool array of independent shops and galleries clustered along the historic main street. We are also located only 1.5 hours from Virginia Tech.

We are looking for someone who can make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members, and who is committed to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics. The Veterinarian we are looking for is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with the Managing Doctors and supporting medical staff. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.

  • **We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
  • **We work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, a fully equipped in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, a fully equipped dental suite with digital dental x-ray, a therapeutic companion class IV laser, and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
  • **We also have very close relationships with local specialty hospitals for advanced diagnostics, surgery and 24-hour emergency care.
  • **We are highly focused on preventative care and dentistry.
    **Recently added acupuncture therapy to our range of offerings.
  • **We also encourage and support the growth and advancement of our DVM’s special veterinary interests.
